Our CSA
What’s a CSA?
Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a way to buy produce directly from the farm. CSA members sign up in late winter or early spring to receive weekly distributions of produce throughout the growing season. CSA is a great way to connect with a local farm and get the freshest, seasonal produce. CSA is an investment in local agriculture and the local food system.
Local & Organic
Pork Hill Farm was first Certified Organic in 2010. We grow all of our produce, herbs, and flowers following the guidelines of the National Organic Program and are Certified Organic by the New Hampshire Department of Agriculture, Markets & Food (NHDAMF). We work with the National Resource Conservation Service to conserve soil, protect water quality, and develop pollinator and wildlife habitat throughout the farm.
How it Works
CSA members sign up online and pay for a CSA Share by sending a check in the winter or spring. When the harvest season begins in June, CSA members come to the farm to pick up a weekly share of the harvest.
We have two CSA harvest seasons that can be purchased separately or together, and options to add a weekly Bouquet or a Pick-Your-Own Flower Share to help brighten your home and your day.
We collaborate with The Foothill Farm Alliance to offer a Winter CSA.
Once the CSA starts, you’ll pick up a weekly harvest on Tuesday afternoons at the farm in Ossipee.
What’s in a Share?
Summer and Fall CSA shares include a weekly seasonal harvest. Each share has five to eight items and is valued at $25 - $45. A larger family or a hungry vegetarian might want to purchase an additional share.
Our season begins in June with greens like salad mix, head lettuce, and arugula; and vegetables like kale, radish and turnip.
In July, we harvest cucumbers, zucchini, summer squash, spring onions, cabbage, garlic scapes, green beans, fennel, and kohlrabi.
In August and September, we harvest cherry tomatoes, slicing tomatoes, peppers (hot and sweet), carrots, celery, onions, fresh garlic, and eggplant.
In the fall, we harvest potatoes, carrots, celery root, turnips, and greens.
CSA Shares often include delicious greens like salad mix, head lettuce or arugula. We also include herbs like basil, parsley, thyme, sage, and oregano.
We offer a Bouquet Share arranged at the farm using our most gorgeous blooms that we will put into a wax sleeve and tuck in with your CSA share for those who don’t have time for Pick Your Own or just want an additional bouquet.
